WE ARE …..
a non-profit Christian organization of volunteers with the desire to provide temporary relief assistance of immediate needs. We acquire information, of support and services supplied by the community for local people and families. After praying for God’s guidance of each situation we continue to serve by identifying and helping to resolve the basic and immediate needs by matching this to our available resources. Our funds however, always seems to be less than the required needs. All of our funds are provided by fundraisers and charitable donations. Without the help of generous donations this ministry would not be possible.
A little helps a lot!
Primary Goal: Our goal is to build Christ's kingdom by saving souls. We plant seeds by the Holy Spirit working through us as a witness by serving others. We represent Christ and His love. Our intent is to help as many people as possible. By doing this, we plant seeds, nurture, add all of the necessary ingredients and release to grow and develop.
After benefiting from this ministry, some people wish to volunteer to help others in need. This produces a beautiful ongoing, growing addicting effect. We are all being blessed constantly because Everyone has something to offer to Someone else.
CCMM is a non-profit organization. This is a powerful ministry that comes from the heart with the desire to help people less fortunate whom are in need of various types of assistance. We are volunteers that care about our community. Our desire to help people began when our friend and fellow co-worker Joe Judish had taken sick with terminal cancer. Joe had one request. He desired to have a handicap ramp to go outside. During this time Joe had been given 1-3 months to live. This action had to happen fast. A fundraiser was put together to make this possible. Donations received amounted to twice as much money as was needed for materials.

Within 2 weeks a 30’ ramp was built and installed on a cold wet rainy
December Saturday. Joe was propped up at
his window to watch the progress. Joe
was pleased and grateful for his fellow co-workers that were willing to build
this ramp for him. Because of our
witness on that day Joe gave his heart to the Lord! Joe’s family witnessed the compassion of his
fellow co-workers that had brought that last smile to their father’s face as he
was wheeled down his handicap ramp that Sunday morning.
This would be the one and only time Joe would use this ramp.
“Our batteries were charged and we wanted to do more”. Within 4 months we lost two great friends that helped with this ministry. Their desire was to organize this ministry instead of just doing little pockets of work. The irony is that their “own” widows became benefactors of this ministry that these men wanted to help widows.
We gradually became an official organized non-profit organization with the government and the state of Maine known as the “Compassion Center of Midcoast Maine”. Our goals are to provide immediate temporary assistance to people and families in need within our community. Some people whom benefit from our ministry become volunteers helping others in need. This organization is based and run at the director’s Sylvia & Tim Tetu’s home in Brunswick. (No overhead costs) We try to stay anonymous however, this is impossible. We need to spread the word to get volunteers and donations.
Our funds to help these less fortunate people in our community are limited. We embark on different types of fundraisers including the collection of returnable bottles and cans to help support our still young and new organization. There are many emergency and immediate needs in the Midcoast area. Our funds unfortunately always seem to be less than the required needs. With the help of generous donations Compassion Center of Midcoast Maine would not be possible. “A little helps a lot”.
Each month introduces us to many different situations. There is great discernment considered in this ministry, using God as our guide. Each situation is an individual experience and requires to be handled uniquely. We have helped in many different ways.
· .Provided Thanksgiving baskets annually
